In addition to the National Research Priorities released in December 2002 by the Australian Government, CRDC investment decisions give considerable weight to industry and Government’s priorities for Rural Research and Development, last revised in 2003.
In summary,Government research priorities are:
• Sustainable natural resource management
• Improving competitiveness through a whole-of-industry approach
• Maintaining and improving confidence in the integrity of Australian agricultural food products
• Improved trade and market access
• Use of frontier technologies
• Protecting from invasive diseases and pests
• Creating an innovative culture
