Published

Justin McMillan, General Manager of Production at Auscott Narrabri, is the latest cotton industry leader to be selected to undertake the Australian Rural Leadership Program (ARLP).

Justin will participate in course 28 of the program, commencing in July 2021, with support from CRDC, Cotton Australia and Auscott Limited.

The ARLP is a 15-month leadership development program which takes place across Australia and overseas, immersing rural, regional and remote participants in a series of unique experiences to develop their leadership capabilities.

Over 30 $50,000 scholarships are offered each year to people working in or wanting to contribute to the development of rural, regional and remote Australia - including a cotton industry scholarship, proudly supported by CRDC, Cotton Australia and Auscott Limited.

The cotton industry has a long history of supporting the ARLP, having sponsored at least one participant in 26 of the 28 courses run to date. Many ARLP alumni are well known for their contributions to the industry: Dave Anthony, Adam Kay, Harvey Gaynor, Bernie George, Paul McVeigh, John Hamparsum, Bruce Finney, Philip Armytage, Michael Murray, Dr Sharon Downes, Barb Grey, Arthur Spellson and Mike Logan AM.

The most recent leaders supported to undertake the program with support from CRDC, Cotton Australia and Auscott Limited are: Ruth Redfern (Course 27); Chantal Corish (also supported by Prime Super) and Rod Gordon (Course 26); Fleur Anderson and John Durham (Course 25); and Richard Malone and Tim Chaffey (Course 24).
