CRDC congratulates the three researchers named as finalists in the 2024 CSD Cotton Researcher of the Year Award by Cotton Australia today: Dr Lisa Bird of NSW DPI, Dr Nicole McDonald of Central Qld University and Dr Alice Payne of RMIT.
We're delighted that all three finalists are CRDC-supported researchers, delivering important research impacts for our growers – Lisa (pictured bottom left) and her team monitoring our insecticide resistance to keep our farms safe from pests, Nicole (pcitured top left) helping achieve best practice in managing our on-farm workforces, and Alice (pictured top right) identifying technologies to address the problem of textile waste.
The recipient of the award will be announced at the Cotton Industry Awards dinner, taking place as part of the Australian Cotton Conference in August.
The Summer 2025–26 edition of Spotlight captures a season of innovation, leadership and forward-thinking collaboration. This edition opens with CRDC’s 2025 Innovation Call, offering up to $50,000 to innovations and solutions for cotton’s most pressing challenges, from pest management and riparian weed control to optimising nitrogen use.
