CRDC congratulates the three researchers named as finalists in the 2024 CSD Cotton Researcher of the Year Award by Cotton Australia today: Dr Lisa Bird of NSW DPI, Dr Nicole McDonald of Central Qld University and Dr Alice Payne of RMIT.
We're delighted that all three finalists are CRDC-supported researchers, delivering important research impacts for our growers – Lisa (pictured bottom left) and her team monitoring our insecticide resistance to keep our farms safe from pests, Nicole (pcitured top left) helping achieve best practice in managing our on-farm workforces, and Alice (pictured top right) identifying technologies to address the problem of textile waste.
The recipient of the award will be announced at the Cotton Industry Awards dinner, taking place as part of the Australian Cotton Conference in August.
The Spring 2025 edition of Spotlight captures a season of progress and partnership in Australian cotton. This issue leads with the announcement of the Australian Cotton Industry Data Platform build – a $7 million CRDC initiative with KPMG Australia – set to streamline data management, boost traceability and prepare growers for future market demands.
